A Helping Hand

donatingblood

Donating blood or plasma? Lacey Jessamine of Anaheim, California suggests using a Clipa during your appointment to minimize contact with germs. Whether you’re getting blood drawn or donating, hanging your bag from a table, tray, armrest, chair or bar can keep it off the floor in medical settings. And because Clipa purse hangers only need one hand to open and hang, you’ll be able to pull the bag strap when finished and Clipa will slide back onto the bag, giving your other arm a break afterwards. See our Clipa video page for more useful ideas.

Help for A Healthier New Year

Gyms, indoor pools and recreational centers can carry strep, staph, bacteria and germs. Resolve to stay healthier in 2013 by limiting your gym bag’s contact with surfaces. The bottom of lockers often contain microcrobes–that where shoes are typically placed–and where your bag often goes. If you can hang your bag, great. If not, use sanitizer or a put a paper towel down before placing your bag in. In the workout area, wipe down equipment before and after use with antibacterial wipes or a towel. Wash hands before opening up your locker again and use sandals when showering. Keep your bag off wet, dirty surfaces with a Clipa bag hanger. It works in shower and changing areas, bathrooms, the sink and dressing areas too. After you leave the gym, use antibacterial hand spray. Some can be drying but many brands now contain moisturizer for cold, dry winter months.

Kimberly Clark Germ Study Finds Germiest Spots

A Kimberly-Clark study has found ATMs, mailbox handles, parking meters and gas station pumps are top breeding grounds for harmful bacteria and viruses because they are rarely cleaned. When company hygienists swabbed hundreds of surfaces in six U.S. cities, they found viruses, like ones that cause the common cold and flu, all over gas pumps. They also found bacteria that causes staph infections, which can be spread person to person. The best defense? Keep hand sanitizer or wipes in your car or wash your hands if possible. And if you’re using that gas station bathroom, a Clipa handbag hanger can be keep your purse off the floor in nearly a dozen places.

Many purse hooks can't work on rails or other fixtures like Clipa
