California’s State Attorney General has filed suit against 16 jewelry stores and distributors, saying the levels of toxic lead and cadmium found in imported items was excessive. According to a story in today’s Los Angeles Times, investigators confiscated adult and juvenile jewelry from every business they visited; large retailers have stopped carrying products with high levels of toxic metals.
